Ever heard the phrase “it was a simpler time”? At COBAGS, we believe the future should feel that way too.

We create clever, practical bicycle bags that make everyday cycling easier, safer, and more sustainable — without forcing you to compromise on style or convenience.

It started on a bridge in Copenhagen

On a sunny summer day in Copenhagen (one of the world’s greatest bicycle cities) our founder Nikolai Gulmann stood on Queen Louise’s Bridge. He watched countless cyclists struggling with single-use plastic bags hanging from their handlebars. The heavy bags swung dangerously close to the front wheel, ruining balance and creating accident risks. At the same time, the environmental waste was obvious.

That moment sparked an idea: Why should something as simple as carrying groceries on your bike be so complicated and harmful?

From that observation, the first BikeZac was born. A durable, click-and-go carrier bag made for real life. It offers the easy portability of a plastic bag, combined with the safety and stability of a proper bicycle bag.

Where we are today

Since then, COBAGS has grown from a single idea into a growing brand. The BikeZac 2.1 is now sold across Europe, Japan, and beyond. New retailers join our network every week.

We stay true to our Danish roots: minimalist design, clever functionality, and a relentless focus on making cycling life simpler.

Sustainability at the core

We believe a truly green product must be both eco-friendly and built to last. That’s why every BikeZac is made from woven PP recycled from post-consumer rice sacks collected in Southeast Asia (primarily Vietnam). These materials get a second life as strong, long-lasting bags.
